I recently read Congratulations, Who Are You Again? by Harrison Scott Key. If you are a memoir writer, you’ll want to read this book. It’s Key’s account of how he wrote his first book, The World’s Largest Man, which won the Thurber Prize for Humor in 2016.
You can read my overview of the book on Medium at Women Writing Memoir.

What would qualify as a memoir?
A me noir is a story about yourself. It is a slice of time or can be based on a particular aspect of theme, not your whole life like an autobiography. People are often familiar with Wild or Eat, Pray, Love. Most of the books I’ve reviewed in here are memoirs.
Great suggestion! I’ll check it out. I’m not a memoir writer, but I coach clients who write memoirs so this will be a great resource. Thank you.
Thanks, Kate. It was an interesting read even though I’ve done a lot of research.
I love your thorough book reviews with quotes included! I have already read that last quote a few times and plan to keep referring back to it. It’s a great one!
I know I really like the book when I am writing down every other passage.
